Pete's Nonna's Meat Sauce

Ingredients
28.2 oz. can crushed tomatoes
1 carrot
1 stalk of celery
1/2 onion
3.5 oz. sausage (1 link)
3 oz. ground beef
1/2 cup white wine
Salt, to taste
Red pepper flakes, basil, cloves, or just about anything else! (optional)
Preparation
Cut all veggies to a medium dice.
Add olive oil to a large sauce pan and saute veggies for 10 minutes over medium heat.
Add sausage and ground beef and continue to saute for 5 more minutes.
Add wine and tomatoes and cook over low heat for 30 minutes.
Run immersion blender through sauce until a uniform texture is achieved.
Add salt, to taste.
Mix al dente pasta with sauce to preferred consistency and serve with parmesan cheese and a drizzle of olive oil.
